Simple Dessert Recipes Biography

Simple Desserts is much more than a simple website where you can find delicious, easy dessert recipes, it’s place to learn how to master the techniques necessary to really make the best desserts possible!
The Learning Center is your source for quality instruction to help you master a variety of techniques from The Basics such as creaming butter and sugar to more advanced techniques such as how to temper chocolate and a whole lot in between.  I will be adding more techniques and recipes on a fairly regular basis (as work allows) so be sure to come back often!

The Dessert Recipes not only give you a recipe but help you along the way to making them the best possible by providing more in-depth instructions than you get on other recipe sites. (Some of the recipes haven’t yet been updated with better directions due to time restraints). You can find a variety of easy desserts, complex desserts and everything in between

I’ve very recently updated the site to allow you to add your own recipes and Learning Center entries! Simply head to the registration page, create an account and start helping out the dessert-loving community.

Are you like me and always have some items on hand at all times? We tend to stick to a routine around the DeVolk household and I end up always having a few essentials as my go to items. I can make our favorite meals with them whenever it’s needed and they make it on to my weekly grocery list! Until recently I didn’t even know a lot of my favorite pantry items were Kraft brand! Does it surprise you when you learn that a everyday brand like Kraft can produce so many different staples? I know it surprised me!

In this post I am going to show you how I take a few statement items from Kraft to use in two holiday desserts! First up are these gorgeous Sparkling Jell-O Shots using Welch’s Sparkling White Grape Juice Cocktail and you guessed it, Jell-O!

1 6 oz. Jell-O package (any flavor you wish, I used raspberry here!)
2 Cups boiling water
2 Cups Welch's Sparkling White Grape Juice Cocktail
Cooking Spray, non-flavored
Sprinkles
Instructions

Spray a medium sized casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside.
Boil water and take off heat. Add packet of Jell-O and whisk until it is dissolved. Add the Welch's Sparkling White Grape Juice Cocktail, make sure this is chilled it is important! Stir once to combine.
Pour Jell-O mixture into dish. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in fridge overnight.
When ready to cut into squares, take a butter knife and run it along the edges of the dish. Turn this out onto a cutting board or platter.
Cut into desired shapes, you can even use cookie cutters!
Lay them on a platter and top with sprinkles, serve and enjoy!

With the Planters Creamy Peanut Butter and Baker’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate I made my Christmas time essential. Reindeer Chow!
Reindeer chow is so easy to make, it is essentially just melted semi-sweet Baker’s chocolate, Planters creamy peanut butter and unsalted butter mixed. Toss it in cereal, coat it in powdered sugar, add in some candy covered chocolate in festive colors and you’re done!

I even made these super cute mason jar containers so my family and guests can take some home with them after the party!
I tell you, the possibilities are endless with all the different products Kraft make! They are super easy to find in the aisles at my local Walmart. They are even at some special Holiday displays around the store. I made a Google+ album about my shopping trip and I would love it if you would go check it out!
If you are looking for some more Holiday goody ideas look into this Kraft digital magazine:

Chinese desserts tend toward one of two extremes; a few pieces of fresh fruit, or a decadent concoction that can take hours to prepare. While both have their place, sometimes you want something in the middle: a dessert that is easy to make but will still impress family and friends. Here are my favorite easy dessert recipes:
A simple dessert made with almond flavored gelatin and topped with frut. This recipe is very adaptable - feel free to use various types of canned or fresh fruit as desired.
An assortment of fruits are lightly coated with a sugar syrup and attractive arranged in hollowed melon halves. A great recipe to serve guests.

n this simple dish pears are filled with honey and dates and gently steamed. It's an excellent choice for anyone suffering from a cold or sore throat.

This simple shake makes a great dessert, snack or a breakfast when you're on the run. To turn this into a high protein shake, use soy milk and add a small amount of wheat germ.
Coconut milk lends a sweet flavor to bananas in this quick and easy recipe. It makes a light dessert for two, or can easily be doubled to serve four people.
Coconut milk, cream and cinnamon make a rich topping for steamed bananas. Feel free to add other Asian fruit, such as mangoes or starfruit.
